Cloud Era!

Networks that connect into the clouds and data centers that are cloud-enabled — that’s the new recipe for success!

-

At the outset, it can easily be said that a rapid evolution of enterprise services is already in the works. While connectivity services such as leased lines, IPMPLS VPNs and Ethernet continue to form a stable part of their businesses, service providers are also fast moving into new business segments, with an increasing focus on cloud-and managed service-based offerings. These include infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software/security as a service (SaaS) and unified communications as a service (UCaaS).

In order to expand their bouquet of cloud offerings, telcos as well as other enterprise service providers are partnering with a wide range of cloud platform-cum-service providers as well hardware and software Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). These developments also bring telcos more into direct competition with IT service providers such as IBM, TCS, Wipro and Tech Mahindra, which also are telcos’ vendors for various IT and network infrastructure projects.

These offerings are likely to strengthen further going forward and expectedly contribute more to telcos’ enterprise service businesses.

Among the telcos, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Tata Communications, Tata Teleservices and Vodafone are the key players in the enterprise data service segment.
