27,000 Azam students to use MOM Wallet for in-campus transactions

-

India’s homegrown mobile payment solutions company, My Mobile Payments (MMPL) that owns the MOM Wallet brand has enrolled up to 27,000 students across various institutes of the Pune- based Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society (M C E Society), also known as Azam Campus.

This enrolment is said to be the single largest live on-boarding of customers done by any mobile wallet anywhere. This activation by the company follows the footsteps of the successful pilot program done in September 2015 by MOM Wallet at Whistling Woods International (WWI) at Mumbai, where over 700 students were enrolled during WWI’s annual “Celebrate Cinema” festival and further on facilitating cashless transactions at the cafeteria on campus for students, staff and faculty. M C E Society’s Azam Campus becomes the second to go completely cashless.

According to Shashank Joshi, managing director, My Mobile Payments, “Our activation at the Azam Campus is perhaps the single largest on-boarding of customers by any m-wallet brand in the country. This takes us one step further towards realizing our goal of going completely cashless by the end of the decade.”

Speaking on the occasion, President of M C E Society, P A Inamdar said, “Since our inception in 1948, our campus has always believed in ‘walking the talk’ and thus when we decided to make our campus digital, going cashless was the next logical step. We decided to partner with MOM Wallet because the app is easy to use, we trust their capabilities and believe that their service is excellent.”
