ShopClues deploys image search tool to match trend in online selling

India’s online shopping portal ShopClues has given a facelift to its mobile shopping experience by launching an Image Search Tool on its Android app. With the visual recognitio­n technology, ShopClues believes that this launch is all set to completely disrupt the way m-commerce in India functions by bundling in the best aspects of the offline shopping experience.

The release indicated that ShopClues’ image search tool enables advanced visual recognitio­n of a certain product and shows up more options that are similar in terms of colour, style, pattern, design, material etc. It emulates the brick-and-mortar experience where customers often ask shopkeeper­s to show different variants of and more products like the one on display.

Speaking on the launch of the feature, Gyanesh Sharma, AVP – Engineerin­g, ShopClues, said, “The Image Search Tool on ShopClues has already found healthy traction. Given the good response, we will be investing further in visual technologi­es to make the discovery of the right products faster and more effective.”
