After India head, Twitter MD Parminder Singh also resigns

-

After Twitter India head Rishi Jaitly, micro-blogging website MD, Parminder Singh has resigned from the company after a three-year stint. He disclosed this move on his social media account-twitter. Singh was the managing director at Twitter for India, South East Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa regions. Singh had joined Twitter from Google in November 2013. At Google, he was leading the company’s Display Advertising business for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Google, he had also worked at IBM, Apple and HCL, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Twitter India head Rishi Jaitly had resigned from the company after spending four years at the popular microblogging website.

At the global level, Twitter’s COO Adam Bain has also called it quits after a six-year stint with the micro-blogging site. Bain joined Twitter in 2010 and has been the man-incharge of the company’s entire revenue business becoming COO last year at the same time that founder Jack Dorsey was named CEO.

CFO Anthony Noto will take over Bain’s COO role. Noto will handle both jobs temporarily, but Twitter has already started a search to hire a new CFO to report directly to CEO Jack Dorsey. A source within the company described this search as one of Twitter’s “top priorities.”

Noto’s responsibilities will include the company’s live content business, ads, and data, plus global partnerships and business development.

The news comes in amidst a rough patch for Twitter, with the company laying off 9 percent of its workforce last month after failing to find a buyer.
