De­mand for UC and smart net­work so­lu­tions will rise


Tech­no­log­i­cal ad­vance­ments, ever chang­ing cus­tomer needs, stiff com­pe­ti­tion have changed the face and the pace of busi­ness. The con­tin­ued evo­lu­tion of tele­coms and IT tech­nol­ogy is fu­el­ing the on-go­ing trans­for­ma­tion of the busi­ness en­vi­ron­ment to take ad­van­tage of avail­able tools and op­por­tu­ni­ties.

The uni­fied com­mu­ni­ca­tions (UC) mar­ket is also ex­pe­ri­enc­ing in­spir­ing growth. More and more or­ga­ni­za­tions are adopt­ing hy­brid mod­els. An in­creas­ing num­ber of com­mu­ni­ca­tion tools like video, chat, file shar­ing and con­fer­enc­ing are gen­er­at­ing the need to scale up from ex­ist­ing plat­forms to new ca­pa­bil­i­ties and ap­pli­ca­tions in the cloud.

This adop­tion of UC ap­pli­ca­tions in In­dia is still evolv­ing, tele­phony along with instant mes­sag­ing, pres­ence and con­fer­enc­ing re­main the main ap­pli­ca­tions. How­ever there is an in­creas­ing pos­i­tive ap­proach for fu­ture UC in­vest­ment in or­der to max­i­mize pro­duc­tiv­ity. The ex­tra in­vest­ment re­quired by the ser­vice providers in case of hosted so­lu­tion and en­ter­prise in case of in-premises de­ploy­ment to de­liver se­cured and re­li­able UC is worth the money spent.

To­day’s mo­bile dis­trib­uted work­force de­mands greater flex­i­bil­ity. Em­ploy­ees want the best com­mu­ni­ca­tion tools avail­able for do­ing their jobs ef­fi­ciently so that they can meet their tar­gets. Or­ga­ni­za­tions in turn are also re­al­iz­ing that the evo­lu­tion of UC from voice and video and to the in­cor­po­ra­tion of real-time col­lab­o­ra­tion tools will en­able em­ploy­ees to work quicker and more col­lab­o­ra­tively than ever be­fore.

We be­lieve that the UC land­scape is evolv­ing ev­ery day. De­vel­op­ments in en­ter­prise video tech­nolo­gies and ser­vices and the so­cial me­dia col­lab­o­ra­tion in busi­ness pro­vide more op­por­tu­ni­ties for users and chal­lenges for IT ahead. The years ahead will drive greater de­mand for UC and smart net­work so­lu­tions that could man­age the ca­pa­bil­i­ties and sus­tain the growth of net­work traf­fic.

Em­bed­ding real-time uni­fied com­mu­ni­ca­tions tools can en­hance com­mu­ni­ca­tion and sup­port chang­ing ven­dor land­scape. More adop­tion would mean more scope of in­no­va­tive tech­nolo­gies to pro­lif­er­ate which in turn will boost pro­duc­tiv­ity, re­li­a­bil­ity, and com­pet­i­tive­ness.

The shift from tra­di­tional ex­ist­ing plat­forms to cloud based model will be the key driver for uni­fied com­mu­ni­ca­tion to grow in the fu­ture.
