Offering a charming combination of peaceful luxury, superb dining and bespoke service, Samsara Ubud is a select boutique resort situated amidst the serene rainforest of Payangan. Just

13km north of Ubud, Bali's vibrant capital of arts and culture, Samsara Ubud offers guests all the benefits of a secluded retreat complemented by an array of five-star facilities, excellent dining and a highly personalised private butler-led experience.

With delightful views down the lush valley, the resort comprises just 17 contemporary one- to three-bedroom pool villas positioned to make the best of the elevated location and the tranquillity of the unfolding vista. Full of subtle Balinese influences, the villas are airy and feature a sound system, private pool, cable TV, king-sized four-poster beds with highquality linens and indulgent Makassar marble en-suite bathrooms with double vanities, deep soaking bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers.

Situated at the top of the resort and with majestic views, ample private space,

lavish en-suite bathrooms and spacious living and dining areas, the two and three-bedroom villas opened in July 2018 and are designed for families or couples travelling together. Generously sized heated swimming pools embellish the villas at 2.6m x 8.6m and 2.5m x 10m respectively, complemented by repurposed wooden decking, wide sunbeds with broad parasols and side tables for relaxation.

Whilst in-villa dining is naturally popular, a meal at Samsara Ubud's signature restaurant The Kelusa is an experience not to be missed. Set directly below the expansive wantilan-style open lobby, guests can choose to be seated outdoors on the elegantly sweeping terrace or undercover where a mix of casual and beautifully dressed formal tables await.

From the slices of tender beef with rendang sauce to the signature Samsara lobster and egg at breakfast, the selection of international and inspirational Indonesian dishes presented by Chef Iwan Sutrisno and his team is sure to impress. The perfect place for an indulgent predinner cocktail or a cooling signature blend, there's also seating at the bar where the resident mixologist will be sure to tempt and delight.

The resort facilities include the luxurious Chakra Spa, where guests can enjoy a range of therapies from Balinese massages and healing reflexology to rejuvenating body scrubs. For your convenience, there is an indoor yoga area and outdoor yoga garden, along with a modern gym.

Above the spa, guests can explore the gravity-defying heated infinity pool with its spacious sundeck. Served from Firefly, the pool bar, cooling juices and carefully crafted cocktails and a fresh light-bite menu are available throughout the day.

In the beautifully romantic garden adjacent to the pool and under the velvet night sky, guests are invited to join the Moonlight Cinema. Adorned with luxurious bean bags, the space was personally designed by the owner to evoke feelings of romance and relaxation as guests watch carefully curated classics such as Casablanca and the Wizard of Oz while nibbling on complimentary popcorn. This truly wonderful cinematic experience is complemented by a drinks and snacks menu.

Small but perfectly formed, Samsara Ubud is an ideal destination for gatherings and groups celebrating a special occasion or for couples seeking a serene romantic escape. With regular shuttles into Ubud and an abundance of activities and sights within easy reach, it's also an ideal base to explore the quieter north of the island.
