Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O'dim (Matthew Mcconaughey) the Man in Black. Roland must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil. A continuation of Stephen King's novel series of the same name, the movie combines elements from several of King's eight-volume epic and is set partly in modern-day New York City and partly in Mid-world, Roland's Old West-style parallel universe.
