Q: Describe your responsibilities in 10 words or fewer.

A: I am responsible for all commercial activities at the hotel.

Q: What makes a typical day?

A: Driving the team to achieve the company's financial goals by ensuring the team execute all action plans is really crucial. Meeting customers and engaging with them is a good start to maintain a working relationship.

Q: What's the toughest part of your job?

A: I would say it is the situation in which everything comes at the same time, where I always need to prioritise based on urgency. It is hard to control things at the last minute. As we are in the hospitality industry, this situation often arises, but the outcome depends on how we tackle and manage it.

Q: What do you find most satisfying in your job?

A: I will be so happy once I see the team growing and being dependable and accountable. Seeing the team working as a team will create a great working environment in the office, enabling us, in the end, to deliver a beautiful performance, working towards reaching the company's goals.

Q: Who has been the most influential figure in your career? A: I would say Vincent Guironnet, my current general manager, who has always assisted me in converting sales opportunities. While he has been guiding me and the sales team during the pre- opening, we have been in a different environment, with challenges and the need to find ways to overcome them. He has been a great mentor to me.

Q: Name one really special thing about your hotel.

A: The Majestic Open-air Theatre. Highly acclaimed architect Budiman Hendropurnomo of Denton Corker Marshall and awardwinning interior designer Rudy Dodo of Trivium Design Group worked together in creating a curated design masterpiece.

From the unmistakeable characteristic of Balinese architecture, landscape and guiding principle, to the Indonesian-inspired interior design aesthetics, the nation's heritage is reflected in a harmonious union of Indonesian culture and timeless European elegance.

Q: How do you unwind?

A: Golf is my hobby and, if I can, it's something I try to find time for every weekend. It is always great fun to have a chat on the golf course with friends. Being with the family, such as by going to the beach and seeing Bali's countryside, is also another way for me to unwind.

Q: If you hadn't taken this career path, what would you have chosen?

A: I have loved working in hotels since I graduated in hospitality, which I see as my future career path. As a teacher, I would find it so difficult to be patient enough to face the students every day. I feel hospitality suits me best at the moment. kempinski.com
