Arif D. Arianto
Asst. Director of Sales and Marketing, The Ritz-carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place
Q: Describe your responsibilities in 10 words or fewer. A: To remain as market leader among luxury hotels in Jakarta.
Q: What makes a typical day?
A: Good music to start the morning, one coffee a day, executive line up, meetings, listening to customer feedback, working hard and, the most important thing, don't forget to pause and have fun. Q: What's the toughest part of your job?
A: It takes great personal sacrifice to be a leader and take the bullet. I have to take full responsibility when something goes other than as planned, while also complimenting the team on successful encounters.
Q: What do you find most satisfying in your job?
A: Taking care of our core business. Satisfying our guests, owners and the ladies and gentlemen. This means a job well done.
Q: Who has been the most influential figure in your career? A: There have been a few people who have really trusted me and guided me to where I now am professionally, and I will not forget them. Having Samit Ganguly as my previous leader in sales and marketing inspired me to believe in myself and know I can be what I really want to become.
I am proud to have worked in a top company like Marriott International for 10 years and counting. Under The Ritz- Carlton brand I have been nurtured and had opportunities to explore and grow my professional career.
Q: Name one really special thing about your hotel.
A: The hotel's prime location offers everything on your doorstep and guests can pamper themselves with the all-inclusive, five mealtimes included at The Ritz Club.
Q: How do you unwind?
A: There is nothing more special than spending time and travelling with my family and kids. I also love golf and Playstation.
Q: If you hadn't taken this career path, what would have chosen?
A: It would always have been a lawyer. My strengths include finding loopholes in processes and having a straightforward attitude. ritzcarlton.com
