1816 – French horol­o­gist, sculp­tor and painter Louis Moinet un­veils the very first chrono­graph, which was de­signed for work­ing with as­tro­nom­i­cal equip­ment.

1913 – Longines in­tro­duces the first mono­pusher chrono­graph wrist­watch pow­ered by the brand’s 13.33Z cal­iber move­ment.

1967 – A new ver­sion of the Heuer Au­tavia be­came the first chrono­graph wrist­watch fea­tur­ing a ro­tat­ing tachymeter bezel.

1969 – The first au­to­matic chrono­graph (a joint ven­ture of Heuer, Bre­itling, Buren and Dubois-Depraz) was re­leased.
