HOMEWARD BOUND
BRAUN BÜFFEL INVITES US ON A HISTORICAL ODYSSEY AS THEY EXPLORE THE CAPITAL OF ITS HOME COUNTRY, BERLIN.
t hrough the years, Braun Büffel has taken us to a lot of different parts of the world. The past several seasons saw the German luxury brand heading to mexico, the mountaintops of scandinavia and to morocco. for this season, though, Braun Büffel has chosen to stay closer to home and explore the city that never sleeps, Berlin.
inspired by the contrast between the city’s ’80s pop culture and its current modernist architecture, Braun Büffel’s fall/winter 2017 collection expresses a certain fascination with the surrealism surrounding Berlin. This emotion was then translated by utilizing lines and symmetry reminiscent of Berlin’s architecture.
The brand’s seasonal offerings are further divided into seven collections, each with its own distinct qualities and functions. so, to ease you into the introductions, we grouped the seven based on form and function into those fit for the city, those meant for business and those that will be your trusted traveling companions.
For The City
a stylish addition for a day out in the city, the Bauhaus collection is meant for those who prefer clean designs. crafted using semi-vegetale tanned calf leather, the Bauhaus pieces offer a distinctive look with contrasting shades in the front flap closures. due to their clean design and matte finish, the bags will give your style a more refined veneer.
if you want to go for motifs but aren’t ready to go all out yet, then you might want to consider the lyonel collection. distinguishable through its exterior zip compartment, the lyonel collection is crafted using double-faced medium grain printed milled calf leather. The interiors are lined with a cubic design—a reimagining of the style of German-american artist lyonel freininger. ranging from a messenger to a flat clutch, the lyonel collection
is meant for the gentleman who appreciates fine leather craftsmanship with a hint of creativity.
The tegel collection, on the other hand, makes for an expressive and bold statement. highly noticeable due to its dual texture, the tegel collection is crafted from a combination of coated canvas with semi-vegetale tanned calf leather. at first glance, the tegel collection gives off an antique and classic-sporty impression; yet the addition of marine colors creates a rather contemporary vibe. The collection’s shoulder string bag, for instance, serves as the perfect companion to a casual outfit consisting of a polo shirt, chinos and flat cap.
For Business
designed for the urban gentleman, the rufino-c collection is all about aesthetics. made of fine grain printed calf leather, the rufino-c bags are ideal for the modern gent with a chic metropolitan attitude. if you’re not afraid to add a bold element to your suit-and-tie get up, this should be your go-to collection.
for a more poised gentleman with an eye for minimalist looks we have the Klaus collection. crafted in medium grain printed calf leather, these bags appear unique with their streamlined design—a nod to the clean lines of Berlin’s architecture. The collection’s backpack and clutch, in particular, goes well with formal attire.
The most exclusive of them all, however, is the Bismarck collection. crafted in medium grain printed calf leather, the Bismarck collection features a satin finish for a truly luxurious look. true to the nature of the modern businessman, this collection is supported by practical details, such as a front zip pocket and a well-organized interior for documents and gadgets. The leader of the Bismarck pack is the briefcase in Gaucho.
For Travel
finally, if you are in need for a quick getaway, then travel in style with Braun Büffel’s homme-m collection. inspired by the colors of Berlin’s vibrant nightlife scene, the collection features a season-appropriate palette ranging from black and ebony to marine and moss. crafted in fine-pebbled grain calf leather, the duffel bags from the collection are perfect for your weekend escapades.
and surely, after going through the hustle and bustle of the city and after taking care of work as a proper businessman does, a bit of traveling in style is pretty much a necessity.
