Who would’ve thought that would be collaborating with After his partnership with Adidas ended last fall, the American fashion designer headed over to the German brand to refashion three classic Birksenstock sandals—the Arizona, Madrid and Boston, with four different fabrics, including pony hair (pictured), fullgrain leather and felt. Enveloped with a dark and monochromatic color palette that is quintessentially Rick Owens, these sandals might just be the epitome of the “ugly-pretty” footwear trend that has taken the fashion world by storm. Remember the Balenciaga Triple S sneakers? This collaboration is further proof that 2018 will be home to many more “ugly-pretty” shoes.
