The Jaegers are back for more action in “Pacific Rim: Uprising.” This time, a different set of pilots will be controlling these giant robots. Set ten good years after the Battle of the Breach—the ending of the previous film—the Kaiju monsters are back to cause even bigger trouble. So, in an effort to prevent humanity’s extinction, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps (PPDC) gather up the best pilots to become the next generation of heroes. They are led by Jake Pentecost (John Boyega), son of the late Stacker Pentecost, and his adopted sister, Mako Mori, which is played once again by Rinko Kikuchi.
