Breaking New Ground
Christian Louboutin unveils its standalone men’s store at PLAZA INDONESIA, Jakarta, and debuts its atelier-inspired fall collection.
Christian Louboutin has enjoyed quite a loyal following in Indonesia. Last March, the French brand took yet another step in Indonesia by opening its first men’s store in Jakarta.
The Inspiration
The new store for men is inspired by the brand’s flagship store at Mount Street, London. Needless to say, the store is lavishly decorated with the house’s iconic color: red.
Of course, the true highlight of any trip to this new store would be the brand’s lineup of offerings—especially new ones. For the coming fall season, Christian Louboutin has launched a bold and avant-garde collection celebrating the creation process of its shoes and inspired by its own atelier.
Inside the Atelier
Named Loubi in Progress, the collection showcases elements of deconstruction and highlights the use of Kraft paper, which is normally used for shopping bags and shoe boxes.
To make sure that the Kraft paper is the center of attention, a minimal palette is used. The same goes for the accompanying collection of accessories. Some of the accessories and shoes even feature measuring tapes that line up with the shape of the item, creating truly artistic compositions.
