Feel the Breeze

When talking about preventing body odor, talcum powder is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. Instead, we tend to think about deodorants or body sprays. Well, contrary to popular belief, talcum powder can work wonders in this department. While it does not stop sweating as well as an antiperspirant does, it is definitely a great aid against sweat. Why? Because talcum powder is really absorbent. It is an astringent powder that causes body tissues to squeeze and creates a dry surface. And not only does it absorb moisture, it also reduces friction, thus minimizing sweat production. This is especially good for those who exercise regularly, as applying talcum powder to sweaty areas like the thighs can prevent chafing, while for nether regions—particularly the crotch area—it provides a cool and drying sensation. Just make sure you’re not wet when you apply the talcum powder. Furthermore, talcum powder is also a great solution to heal cracked heels, or even as a dry shampoo for greasy hair. Finally, the fragrance in most talcum powders also works wonderfully well to mask body odor.
