New Era
Last August, under the direction of newly appointed creative director Riccardo Tisci (formerly at Givenchy), Burberry has unveiled a new house logo and monogram. With the help of art designer and graphic artist Peter Saville, the new logo saw Burberry’s original cursive and serif font replaced with a serif-less and all-caps Burberry. There’s also the word “England” added right after “London.” The new monogram print, on the other hand, features interlocking Ts and Bs that pay homage to the brand’s founder, Thomas Burberry. Not long after that, on September 17 during Tisci’s debut show with Burberry, the house also released a 24 hour limited edition B Series collection that saw the house’s new logo and monogram plastered over T-shirts, pouches and tote bags. The new monogram was also spotted on belt bags and several outerwear pieces sent down the runway.
