Back in Black

-

At this year’s Baselworld fair, Tudor introduced an additional model as part of its Black Bay line, dubbed the Black Bay FiftyEight, whose dimensions are similar to the brand’s first divers’ watches. The name comes from the year when the brand’s first divers’ watches that are waterproof to 200 meters was introduced, namely the reference 7924, which was dubbed the “Big Crown.” The Black Bay Fifty-Eight features a dial inspired by the Tudor divers’ watches produced back in the 1950s and then adopted the characteristic angular hands known to many collectors as “snowflake,” which, in turn, appeared in Tudor’s 1969 catalogue. Overall, this watch is the result of the subtle blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary watchmaking.
