Komodo Island’s five-star natural beauty has finally received its muchdeserved equivalence in hospitality with its first five-star resort: AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach ( LabuanBajo,Flores,Indonesia;+62 361702222;ayana.com). Located just an hour away from Bali by air, the tropical paradise, renowned for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and marine biodiversity, serves as the backdrop of the resort. Each of the 205 guestrooms, including 13 suites, come equipped with large windows boasting majestic ocean views. As a matter of fact, guests can gaze at the spectacular view right from the moment of arrival, as its main lobby is unconventionally built at the 11th floor and the guestrooms underneath it.

The resort is also home to six restaurants and bars, including its all-day dining venue Rinca, which serves Asian and international cuisine. Its three bars spread across the resort include one at the lobby, Mesa, one on the rooftop, Pempe, and one by the pier, Naga Bar.

AYANA Komodo Resort is also equipped with three swimming pools, a kid’s club and spa facilities consisting of four single treatment rooms and a double room. Guests looking to host private events, parties or even wedding receptions will also be pleased to know that the rooftop terrace and function rooms can accommodate approximately 200 guests.

But truly, the one thing that no guest should miss is the 54 meter long Phinisi liveaboard ship. Named the AYANA Lako di’a, which means “safe journey,” the luxury yacht is equipped with nine bedrooms. Bookable by full charter or by bedroom, AYANA Lako di’a offers two, three or five night trips around the island, with stops at some of its famous landmarks, including making port at the home of the Komodo dragon. Guests will also be visiting remote dive spots to explore aquatic species, swim with manta rays and dive amongst coral gardens. Snorkeling, yoga, trawling and dolphin watching are also available during the excursion.
