Ko­modo Is­land’s five-star nat­u­ral beauty has fi­nally re­ceived its muchde­served equiv­a­lence in hos­pi­tal­ity with its first five-star re­sort: AYANA Ko­modo Re­sort, Wae­cicu Beach ( LabuanBajo,Flores,In­done­sia;+62 361702222; Lo­cated just an hour away from Bali by air, the trop­i­cal par­adise, renowned for its white sandy beaches, crys­tal clear wa­ter and marine bio­di­ver­sity, serves as the back­drop of the re­sort. Each of the 205 gue­strooms, in­clud­ing 13 suites, come equipped with large win­dows boast­ing ma­jes­tic ocean views. As a mat­ter of fact, guests can gaze at the spec­tac­u­lar view right from the mo­ment of ar­rival, as its main lobby is un­con­ven­tion­ally built at the 11th floor and the gue­strooms un­der­neath it.

The re­sort is also home to six restau­rants and bars, in­clud­ing its all-day din­ing venue Rinca, which serves Asian and in­ter­na­tional cui­sine. Its three bars spread across the re­sort in­clude one at the lobby, Mesa, one on the rooftop, Pempe, and one by the pier, Naga Bar.

AYANA Ko­modo Re­sort is also equipped with three swim­ming pools, a kid’s club and spa fa­cil­i­ties con­sist­ing of four sin­gle treat­ment rooms and a dou­ble room. Guests look­ing to host pri­vate events, par­ties or even wed­ding re­cep­tions will also be pleased to know that the rooftop ter­race and func­tion rooms can ac­com­mo­date ap­prox­i­mately 200 guests.

But truly, the one thing that no guest should miss is the 54 me­ter long Phin­isi live­aboard ship. Named the AYANA Lako di’a, which means “safe jour­ney,” the lux­ury yacht is equipped with nine bed­rooms. Book­able by full char­ter or by bed­room, AYANA Lako di’a of­fers two, three or five night trips around the is­land, with stops at some of its fa­mous land­marks, in­clud­ing mak­ing port at the home of the Ko­modo dragon. Guests will also be visit­ing re­mote dive spots to ex­plore aquatic species, swim with manta rays and dive amongst coral gar­dens. Snorke­l­ing, yoga, trawl­ing and dol­phin watch­ing are also avail­able dur­ing the ex­cur­sion.
