Is This the Real Life?
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
Stars Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy
Director Bryan Singer No introductions are necessary for Queen, or its lead singer Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek). “Bohemian Rhapsody” chronicles the band’s meteoric rise through their revolutionary songs, Freddie’s sudden solo career and finally, their reconciliation at Queen’s Live Aid performance in 1985. And no, his death will not be covered in the movie as it won’t extend after 1985. But the movie does shine a light on Mercury’s bisexuality and his battle with AIDS. Serving as the producer on this movie is none other than Queen’s founding members Brian May and Roger Taylor, while Bryan Singer and Derex Fletcher—who replaced Singer as director after he was dismissed for clashing with the crew—serves as the director(s).
