A casual eatery with a fine-dining twist may sound a bit confusing, but it is definitely interesting to hear. Enter Devon Café ( SenayanCity Mall,LowerGround,Jl.AsiaAfrika Lot.19;+622172781590;devoncafe. id), one of Sydney’s most beloved coffee and brunch destinations, which opened its first venue outside Australia right here in Jakarta. With innovation as its forefront, the menu offers a fusion of eclectic flavors (Korean, Japanese and Chinese) that reflects Australia’s multicultural society. This time, however, there’s the added element of Indonesian ingredients. Perhaps the best and most riveting example is the Truffle Bakmie. Signatures, meanwhile, include Breakfast with the Sakuma’s which has miso grilled salmon and eel croquette or the Ogre Happy Meal for some grilled ox tongue and hash browns. Some dishes also make use molecular gastronomy techniques, which most splendidly elevates the casual dining experience.
