Based on the novel of the same name by Philip Reeve, “Mortal Engines” is a steampunk, post-apocalyptic adventure film co-produced and co-written by Peter Jackson. The story is based on the fictional concept of Municipal Darwinism, where cities are rebuilt as Traction Cities which runs on engines, gigantic wheels or caterpillar tracks. Basically, it’s cities on wheels. And the big ones will roam around consuming smaller ones for resources. Audiences will meet Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), who joins forces with Anna Fang (Jihae) and Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan) to lead a rebellion against a giant, predator city: London.
