For the spring/summer 2019 season, premium leather brand braun büFFel presents an eclectic collection with retro touches and a Futuristic outlook
new collections from braun büffel always have a theme to them, a particular source of inspiration. sometimes it’s a place, sometimes it’s a person and for spring/ summer 2019, it’s a time. well, two different segments of time, actually, as this season the brand introduces an eclectic collection with “retro Future Vision” as its theme.
This also marks the first complete collection by braun büffel’s creative director, Fabio panzeri. known for his unique understanding and appreciation of the historical codes of the brand and celebrated for his contemporary sensibility, panzeri has chosen to unravel his vision of a metallic and geometric-influenced futuristic utopia.
The men’s collection is perhaps best described as “urban tech-sportswear mixed with androgynous charm.” movie buffs might notice hints from stanley kubrick’s cult classic “2001: a space odyssey” in the utilitarian pieces and technical materials used throughout the collection, particularly the all-new hi-visibility retrofleX, which really brings out the collection’s fashion meets function vibe.
color-wise, the collection’s palette is based on black which gives the pieces an androgynous and art deco feel. its futuristic aspect, meanwhile, is highlighted using dark mauve, supported by electric touches to add a hi-tech feel and dark silver for an industrial tone that resonates nicely with the sci-fi inspiration and retro element of the collection. Finally, light hues of the ocean are added to create a fluid notion while touches of bright topazio emphasize the geometric shapes and sporty nature of “retro Future” vision.
Bully Goes to Space
of course, no braun büffel collection would be complete without an appearance by buffy or bully, the two iconic representations of the house’s

whimsical side who take after the brand’s bull logo. This time around, bully is headed to space in a mission to promote recycling and sustainability all across the world.
You can find bully wearing his snazzy astronaut outfit on a backpack, a drawstring backpack which would be perfect for a summer holiday, a clutch, a waist pouch—again, perfect for summer outings—along with a cap. These five models form the space bully collection which features fine grain printed calf leather and nickel hardware in satin finish. of course, as bully is the brand’s symbol of sustainability, these pieces are 100-percent of leather cut-offs.

remember the new retrofleX mentioned earlier? This new hi-tech fabric comes alive in the black clutch and tote bag of the Z- gen collection. with their sleek and sophisticated silhouettes, the Z- gen pieces are designed to allow the modern traveler to make a rugged statement that still shows off strong metropolitan vibes. scintillating reflections from the retrofleX add a nice urban-street touch to the collection.
moving further into the braun büffel spring/summer 2019 collection, retrofleX also makes a strong appearance in the kirk collection. made from neoprene fabric and nappa leather, the pieces of the kirk lineup embrace panzeri’s futuristic vision of urban sportswear using a holographic embroidered patch of the house’s buffalo logo. as a finishing touch, all of the pieces in the collection—a biker messenger bag, a backpack, a toiletries bag, a drawstring backpack and a shoe bag—feature black ceramic hardware with ionized plating.
The danny collection also features retrofleX combined with supple leather detailing and gunmetal hardware. These versatile pieces breathe modernity and contemporary silhouettes that can easily accompany you during long journeys or to work.
of course, these three are only the tip of the proverbial iceberg that is the retro Future Vision. There’s also the delos-r collection, which pairs utilitarian design with subtle touches of luxury.
