A New YeAr ANd Old FrieNds

hile wrapping up this issue of I couldn’t help but look back at our journey for the past year. It would be an understatement to say that 2020 was challenging. I would like to think, however, that we managed to meet the challenges that came our way. And we even rose to the occasion when new opportunities arose. Case in point: Our continued collaboration with OPPO, which began in our previous October/November 2020 issue, to bring you fashion magazine-quality images, taken by a smartphone camera.

Interestingly, this issue’s cover story also reconnected us with an old friend of the magazine, the ever-optimistic Daniel Mananta. And, in a way, he reminded us about one of the most important things to do in such difficult times: celebrate the small victories. Perhaps some of us need to be reminded that 2020 has been, in fact, a tough year. And while we all should continue to strive for the best, we should not become discouraged if we stumble once in a while as we struggle to make sense of this chaotic world.

Speaking of old friends, we also caught up with Harry Goodwins, whom we featured in almost a decade ago. Furthermore, in this issue we have exclusive interviews with Brandon Good as well as twins Matthew Dennis Lewis and Russell Dennis Lewis from the hit Netflix series “The Queen’s Gambit.” Other than that, we also have a range of exclusive fashion features showcasing the key looks of the season.
