a boutique resort where luxury and sustainability meet. It also helps that the Tabanan development offers private seclusion for those craving peace and quiet place to relax while on holiday. Nirjhara means “waterfall” in Sanskrit, an appropriate name for a space situated in the middle of natural wonders.

There are 25 villas in Nirjhara ranging from River Pavilions, Canopy Suites in the shape of treehouses, Two Bedroom Pool Villas and an exclusive Two-Bedroom Villa named The Residence. The property’s restaurant, Ambu, is a romantic Indonesian restaurant housed in a casual chic environment with sweeping views of the lush green and rice fields, a cascading waterfall a nd a dense tropical forest. Its menu pays tribute to the island’s eclectic and rich heritage by offering a fresh take on Indonesian classic s as well as contemporary Western dishes.

Nirjhara also practices sustainability throughout its property with the use of its own drinking water in recycled glass bottles, implementing ozone water treatment and eliminating singleuse plastic. Ambu, meanwhile, sources its vegetables and herbs from the property’s own garden and neighbouring farms. Other facilities include The Retreat, which is more sanctuary than spa: A haven where therapies make use of age-old Balinese techniques and natural products sourced from throughout the island. The Retreat features four treatment rooms complemented by two Finnish Saunas, a yoga deck, and a fully-equipped Fitness Centre.
