It’s a Dot Dot World

-

After their successful collaboration in 2012, Louis Vuitton invites us once again to the infinity world of Yayoi Kusama. After a decade long, the two return with fully extensive collection ranges from ready-to-wear, bags, accessories, luggages & trunks and fragrances. Unlike the first collaboration installment, the second collaboration will feature series of artful pieces for men as well.

It is how Kusama painted the dots and put her intricate details on the Maison’s iconic monograms that testing and furthering the limits of Louis Vuitton’s savoir faire. It reflects the two likeliness on their perspective of art and how the collection should be made to function in the everyday’s life. So it’s no surprise that this creative exchange looks quite more enchanting and worth investing in.

Expect to see some of Kusama’s signature art like Painted Dots, Metal Dots, Infinity Dots and Psychedelic Flower on most of the menswear pieces. Those motifs remain collective through the presence of biker jacket, cargo pants, silk scarves, baseball caps and trainers. The dotty prints are also featured on the iconic Keepall and Soft Trunk where the painted dots cover most of the surface. The Lock It bag that was once the hero item from 2012’s collection is seen again, this time allowing them to be our new best friend or coupling them with 1.1 Millionaires sunglasses. Not a fan of the dots? Kusama’s famous 1983’s Flowers paintings are encapsulated in Maxi bumbag and Sac Plat.

The collaboration will be celebrated in a fully immersive style from window displays, pop ups, billboards and even an XR game. There will be two drops for the collection, one on earlier January 2023 and the second drop will be on March 31, 2023.
