Found ensconced within the delightful Wapa di Ume Resort & Spa, a stylish boutique resort just five minutes from the centre of Ubud, Mr. Wayan, Balinese Cuisine serves only Balinese dishes and beverages. Helmed by Chef Gede Paskara Karilo, Mr. Wayan, Balinese Cuisine was created with just one core concept in mind; to create and offer authentic Balinese flavours and textures. “Balinese cuisine is rich in flavour, herbs and spices. Here, we do not restrain our way of cooking to make it less spicy or dumb down the flavour. We cook our food whole- heartedly, just like we cook at home,” the chef boldly states.

Mr. Wayan, Balinese Cuisine is set amidst the iconic Balinese rice fields of Ubud and that rice plays a big role in the menu with classic Balinese dishes like Nasi Gurih, a fragrant dish with herbs and coconut milk. Mains include rarities like the lamb stew Serapah Kambing and Lawar Kenus, sweet baby squid in grated coconut and Balinese spices. If it’s the authentic taste of Balinese food that you have been searching for, search no more.
