A prodigious New Year
Man Fu Yuan at Intercontinental Singapore offers a bevy of Chinese New Year treats, from prosperity set menus to impressive yu sheng platters.
Usher in the Year of the Metal Rat with the bountiful offerings from award-winning restaurant, Man Fu Yuan. Guests can choose from eight prix-fixe menus, which will be available from 6 January to 8 February. The eight-course Bliss menu ($1,388/10 persons) is an extravagant affair. It starts with the Abundance yu sheng with salmon and fish skin, followed by the luxurious Braised Abalone and Sea Cucumber. The latter is stuffed with minced prawn and pork. Health-conscious diners will definitely enjoy the Steamed Tiger Garoupa with Yunnan Black Garlic and the nourishing Eight Treasures Tea with Peach Collagen and Bird’s Nest. Man Fu Yuan will also offer à la carte dishes, including the Abundance Treasure Pot, which is filled to the brim with 18 premium ingredients. The star of this year’s culinary offerings is the 60-inch Prosperity Yu Sheng. It is shaped in the form of the Chinese character, Yuan, and filled with Hokkaido scallops and salmon, and finished with a passion fruit roselle sauce.
For a steamboat reunion dinner that veers from the typical, Man Fu Yuan’s premium selection will cater to your needs. 10 ingredients will be available for purchase, including the Poached Kampong Drunken Chicken ($22), Homemade Premium USA Angus Beef Balls with Water Chestnuts ($32/eight pieces), and Eight-head Abalone with Minced Hokkaido Scallops ($108/10 pieces). Other festive takeaways include the signature Tea-smoked Duck ($88), and Chinese New Year snacks like Prosperity Pineapple Balls ($38) and Almond Cookies ($38).
