The art of appreciation
Friends of epicure were invited to join an Indonesian-themed cocktail and dinner party at Taman Bhagawan.
With its elegant fountains, Balinese statues, redbricked architecture, and hand-crafted wooden joglos, Taman Bhagawan at Tanjung Benoa, Bali exudes the beauty of Indonesian culture. The beachfront venue was the gorgeous backdrop for epicure's appreciation party on 21 November 2019. Key players in Bali's hotel and restaurant industry came dressed in bright coloured kebayas and batik shirts to join the wonderful Indonesiathemed evening.
Guests were welcomed by refreshing Rosellytini cocktails and tasty canapés of Creamy Mushroom Vol Au Vent, Indonesia’s favourite snacks Perkedel and Pastel, as well as Smoked Salmon Blini, all served in a steady stream by the gracious team from Vivre Catering.
epicure’s senior publisher, Cecilia Goh; regional business director, Dewi Prasodjo; associate editor, Eve Tedja; and finance controller, Angie Garnaen hosted the evening. A handsomely set white open bar under a mighty mastwood tree was set up, serving Ohau Gravels New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc 2017 and Ventisquero Clásico Valle Central Cabernet Sauvignon 2018.
The dinner was held at a hand-carved, old wooden joglo. Flickering candles illuminated the interior as guests tucked into a three-course Indonesian set menu comprising flavoursome and intricately plated Gado Gado, Beef Rendang, and Bubur Sumsum.
Inspired Intl., Bali’s newest full-service event solution company, designed the experience, ambience, and entertainment. For the latter, Truedy, Bali’s solo vocal pianist, enchanted the audience with her repertoire of Indonesian folk songs. What followed next was a magical Balinese-inspired contemporary dance performance to end the night on a fabulous note.
