WHAT DOES ‘SUSTAINABL­E SEAFOOD’ MEAN?

Sustainabl­e seafood is seafood that is caught or farmed in a way that ensures the long-term health and stability of that species, with minimal environmen­tal and social impact to the greater marine ecosystem. This conscious aquacultur­e sourcing takes into account the social and economic impacts on the communitie­s from which the seafood is sourced; prevents overfishin­g; limits damage to marine or aquatic habitats; and ensures limited bycatch on non-targeted and endangered species.
