LIFE’S A BEACH
Whether lunch or dinner, there are plenty of gourmet indulgences to be had at Fisherman’s Club at Andaz Bali.
Inspired by the laid-back Sanur neighbourhood and the heritage of the island’s craftsmanship, Andaz Bali is modern interpretation of a Balinese village. Its 149 rooms, suites and villas are nestled within the resort’s leafy landscape, shaded by wizened tall Fig, Rain and Banyan trees. The red-bricked façade of the buildings are partly hidden by curvaceous frangipanis, interrupted by ponds, trickling water fountains and a tiny courtyard that begs to be explored. The pace of life immediately slows down, letting one to fully relax and unwind, preferably with a jug of Sangria by the pool.
True to its Balinese village concept, the communal spirit of the resort can be found in all of its dining venues.
From Village Square’s casual indoor and outdoor seating that encourage openness and social interaction to the breezy
Fisherman’s Club by the beach. After all, there is hardly a more memorable time during a staycation than sharing a meal with your loved ones. Open daily, day and night, the openair beachfront restaurant invites in-house guests and local residents alike to dine, swim and enjoy life’s little pleasures.
Helmed by executive sous chef Benjamin Haselbeck, Fisherman’s Club is imbued with the resort’s eclectic lifestyle approach. From its various seating arrangements – inside near the open-kitchen or outside by the pool – to its cosmopolitan influence of flavours the restaurant aims to satisfy different cravings and fancies. With more than a decade of experience working in different Hyatt’s properties from Europe over South Korea to Japan, Haselbeck’s worldly influence can be found on the menu.
“I recommend starting off with small bites such as Crispy School Prawn, Guacamole, Korean-style Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken or Salmon Rice Pizza. They are perfect for grazing in between having a plunge in the pool or siesta,” says Haselbeck. A few tan lines later, opt for heartier fare such as Fisherman’s Burger and Grilled Seafood Skewer which comes with tender octopus, fish and prawn. Since there’s always room for dessert, don’t miss Coconut and Pandan Crème Brûlée or a choice of Bingsu, best enjoyed by the beach. Kids or the Little Villagers receive a special treatment. From dedicated kids’ pool to a special menu, the little ones can enjoy tasty dishes such as Cheeseburger or Churros and have fun with mums and dads.
