Astylish little eatery tucked away down Boon Tat Street and just a two-minute walk from Telok Ayer MRT, the one Michelin-starred Cheek by Jowl bills itself as a contemporary Australian restaurant serving up excellent modern Australian cuisine created using only natural and sustainable produce.
Quality modern Australian dining, like Australia itself, has evolved via a myriad of external influences. Today it's perhaps best described as a collection of styles and tastes that draws inspiration from all around the world including western European, Mediterranean, South and Southeast Asian, African and Arabic.
The name, Cheek by Jowl, means close together or side-by-side and represents the restaurant's husband-and-wife team, Restaurant Manager Manuela Toniolo and Head Chef Rishi Naleendra who together offer Singaporean diners an original and innovative menu filled with multicultural tastes and textures.
With a distinguished and cross-cuisine career already behind him, including stints at Tetsuya, Yellow by Brent Savage and MACA, Chef Rishi made history this year by becoming the first Sri Lankan chef to be awarded a Michelin Star. His multi-level menu at Cheek by Jowl includes set and
