Lo­cated on the 57th floor of Sands Sky­park Ho­tel, Tower 1, LAVO Ital­ian Restau­rant & Rooftop Bar is Sin­ga­pore's lat­est Ital­ianAmer­i­can restau­rant, bar and night­club that boldly bills it­self as a venue where high-qual­ity Ital­ian-Amer­i­can cui­sine meets elec­tri­fy­ing mu­sic - the ul­ti­mate vibe-din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence.

Set against Sin­ga­pore's spec­tac­u­lar sky­line, LAVO is a sleek space with an eclec­tic de­sign that fea­tures large multi-level din­ing ar­eas, a lux­u­ri­ous lounge com­plete with a fully-equipped DJ booth and a large out­door bar and ter­race.

The in­te­rior de­sign is a mix of heavy wooden tables, booths, seats and benches de­signed to con­trast with the rus­tic dé­cor. There's am­ple seat­ing at the bar and a few strate­gi­cally placed loveseats – two-seater so­fas up­hol­stered in plush pur­ple ma­te­rial.

A pho­to­genic heaven de­signed to make the most of the view, the sweep­ing ter­race of­fers high tables and re­laxed low so­fas along with plenty of open floor space and of course a mag­nif­i­cent 180-de­gree panorama of the city and Ma­rina Bay be­low.

With separate lunch and din­ner menus the choice of de­lec­ta­ble brunch and Ital­ian light and hearty clas­sics is ex­cel­lent. The por­tions are gen­er­ally large and in­clude shar­ing ap­pe­tiz­ers like The Meat­ball, a suc­cu­lent and spicy dish com­bin­ing 1lb of fresh im­pe­rial wagyu beef and Ital­ian sausage topped with a healthy dol­lop of whipped ri­cotta cheese.

Nat­u­rally there's a range of gourmet pizza and pasta dishes like truf­fle gnoc­chi, ca­vatelli Bolog­nese and the suc­cu­lent chicken ag­nolotti. From the brick oven the de­li­cious Carne, a per­fectly cooked elon­gated pizza served on a bread board and topped off with capoc­ollo, pro­sciutto, pep­per­oni, to­mato and fresh moz­zarella, is a wise choice.

From the grill check out the red snap­per, filet mignon, rack of lamb or for the real car­ni­vores the porter­house steak. Add top­pings like black truf­fle but­ter and creative sides such as mixed wild mush­rooms, truf­fle fries and creamed spinach.

Fea­tur­ing a choice of sal­ads and a raw bar that show­cases dishes like freshly shucked oys­ters, lob­ster cock­tail and the fab­u­lous seafood plateau, there's also a se­lec­tion of fresh and light op­tions. For those with a sweet tooth the sig­na­ture 20-layer choco­late cake, thin slices of choco­late lay­ered with peanut but­ter mas­car­pone, is a truly deca­dent treat.

The drinks list is equally as im­pres­sive and fea­tures wines, Cham­pagnes, beers and pre­mium spir­its and a host of clas­si­cally in­spired cock­tails like the Frozé, a blended rosé slushy with fresh rasp­berry syrup. For a spicy cock­tail try the LAVO Mule while the Dragon Spritz, mud­dled dragon fruit and Aperol spritz, is as re­fresh­ing as it sounds. LAVO
