OKU

AT HOTEL INDONESIA KEMPINSKI JAKARTA

-

Located in Jakarta's prime location, just right by the Hotel Indonesia roundabout, OKU offers a Zen sanctuary serving finest Japanese dishes and celebrating traditional recipes with a contemporary twist. Chef Kazumasa Yazawa – or Chef Kaz – is at the helm with his cooking philosophy that pays homage to all the products and ingredients used, which are mostly imported from Japan – OKU's sashimi selection is directly sourced from the famed Tsukiji Market.

“In Japanese culture, we believe that we take the spirits and souls from the ingredients' origins and use them to replenish ourselves, so we are giving honour and gratitude to the organisms that originally housed those spirits.”

Kaz believes that cooking should reveal the life story of what you eat. The name OKU also describes the process of peeling onion layers, portraying the culinary journey to be experienced at the restaurant while savouring the “life stories”.

If you're up for an adventurous journey, opt for the Okukase menu – a clever wordplay on omakase, or the chef's specials. Crafted from the freshest seasonal ingredients available at the moment, the Okukase menu brings rich flavour and excitement to your dining experience. For a more practical meal, the OKU Bento is a favourite among the loyal clientele. Suitable for business or social meetings, the package comprises an appetiser, delicious main and a sublime dessert to wrap it up – perfect for city dwellers who are constantly on the go.

All in all, OKU offers world-class Japanese cuisine in an appropriately themed environment, promising a quality time, be it business or personal.
