Akira Back

Exquisite Taste - - Best Fine Dining : Jakarta -

For a fun and funky fine-dining experience, gourmands flock to Akira Back in Jakarta, where the famed chef has put together not only an exciting menu that incorporates tastes of his childhood with inspiration found on his global travels but also a wonderfully welcoming restaurant with stylish décor and a great soundtrack produced in Las Vegas. While many of the dishes show a Korean or Japanese influence, the extensive menu incorporates the flavours of many regions. Akira Back recently won a Michelin star for Dosa in Seoul, and he and his trusted right-hand man and corporate chef, Andri Dionysius bring this level of attention to the Akira Back Jakarta restaurant, where the finest ingredients end up in alluring, imaginative dishes. While perhaps the tuna pizza is the most recognised with its wafer-thin crust, umami aioli, micro shiso and truffle oil, there is much more to discover. Don't miss out on the Una-Q with its unagi shirayaki, seared foie gras, truffle powder and balsamic teriyaki or the tender 48-hour wagyu short ribs with baby root veggies and quail egg. Amongst the numerous rolls is the outstanding Brother From Another Mother showcasing unagi, anago tempura, foie gras, ponzu mayo and eel sauce, demonstrating once more how to achieve perfect harmony by bringing together elements from around the world. Akira Back Jakarta is always busy and guarantees a lively ambience along with exquisite food.
