The Tuban area of Kuta has a new destination, an eyecatching, semi open-air venue built of bamboo, with fish ponds, a waterfall and tropical greenery providing a refreshing ambience. Offering plenty of space and a welcoming Balinese feel, Wanaku has an intriguing menu of inspired food and drinks that have a modern touch and showcase local ingredients indigenous to the area.

With a vast selection of traditional dishes designed to suit modern tastes, rich flavours and tempting aromas, diners can indulge in local seafood cooked in a variety of styles, flavoursome vegetarian dishes, fragrant fish curries and delectable chicken, duck and meat dishes.

Wanaku has also brought its own style to long-time favourites like nasi campur, nasi bakar, kampung fried rice, lamb fried rice and noodle dishes, which sit alongside a range of satays and exotic vegetable dishes – including the surprisingly delicious bitter melon in salted egg sauce. Desserts include fried ice cream and cakes popular in the country’s markets, as well as hugely popular traditional ices, such as es cendol jagat raya, es pulau dewata and es pisang ijo.

It’s not just the food that makes the most of the region’s natural bounty. Take

the refreshingly inventive alcoholic and non-alcoholic fruity drinks topped with sparkling coconut water, or the seasonal cocktails like Autumn in Vientiane with its nutritious boost through pink chia kombucha, passion fruit and sugarcane juice mixed with vodka. Meanwhile, Winter in Papua brings cold-brew coffee, angostura bitters, amarena cherry, cacao nibs and a smoked kawa leaf to warming bourbon, and the fresh Spring in Sentosa adds tequila to chilli liqueur, rosella syrup, kalamansi sorbet and black pepper.

Indonesia’s traditional regional beverages have also been revived with the mixologist touch and a range of classic cocktails is also available. While sitting by one of the two bars, why not grab a plate of local snacks, like the assorted fritters, fried bananas or fresh tropical fruit?

Wanaku IndoAsian Cuisine is ideal for groups, events, celebrations and parties and has cosy pods for group dining and private dining areas in addition to the main dining area. Groups can order a selection of dishes to share or order the Balinese megibung – a communal meal for everyone to share. With all these choices and live entertainment, Wanaku is perfect for every occasion. Wanaku IndoAsian Cuisine
