Chris Salans Gains Prestigious Award

-

Chris Salans, chef-owner of the highly regarded Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique in Ubud, has been inducted into the Association of Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, members of which are regularly mentioned in the world’s leading food and beverage media. This prestigious body of international master chefs aims “to preserve and spread the French culinary arts, encourage training in cuisine, and assist professional development.”

At the award-winning Mozaic, which is also one of The Grand Tables of the World, Salans embraces the market cuisine philosophy, searching out and foraging the best seasonal Balinese and Indonesian ingredients to create innovative dishes crafted with traditional and modern French techniques and presentation. The elegant setting, with views of Bali’s iconic rice fields, impeccable service and Wine Spectator-awarded wine list add extra flair to an outstanding and unforgettable dining experience.

Throughout his time in Indonesia, Salans has been an energetic mentor to young Indonesian chefs, also travelling the Southeast Asian region and Australia teaching and giving presentations as a culinary ambassador for Indonesian gastronomy.

Receiving his award in Paris, Salans said, “It is an honour for me to join the brotherhood of the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and be recognised as one of the world’s leading French chefs. This recognition will bring more attention to Bali as a world culinary destination. This is another step forward for Bali and Indonesia!”

Mozaic is now open for both lunch and dinner every day. Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique (mozaic-bali.com)
