Born out of a love of good cuisine and a taste for art, Métis Restaurant, Lounge & Gallery is the brainchild of wellknown and respected culinary wiz Nicolas “Doudou” Tourneville and art enthusiast Said Alem. More than just a restaurant, Métis is the ultimate destination for those who appreciate the finer things in life.

First and foremost, the restaurant is known for its exceptional interpretation of classic French cuisine amped up with a Mediterranean touch. The duo successfully juxtaposed the classical fine dining concept with a warm, semi-al fresco ambience, resulting in a gastronomic experience to remember. Doudou and Executive Chef Dove helm the kitchen, where they share inspirations and skills to ensure consistency and quality. While General Manager Thomas Raguzzi brings his experiences in the hospitality industry to lead Métis to further success.

The menu at Métis is just enough to offer variety, but not too much that it's all over the place. Start the culinary journey with a cold and hot appetizer selection to tease the palate. Le terrine de foie gras served with apple cloves compote, morello cherry sauce, chardonnay gelée and toasted brioche is a classic, and a French dining experience would not be complete without les escargots – snail-stuffed roasted mushrooms with garlic parsley butter.

Diners can find more classic French Mediterranean culinary delights, like la bouillabaisse – a hearty seafood soup with sea prawns, shellfish, white fish and rouille sauce; and an exquisite pasta selection on the menu. The main section showcases delectable selections of fish, seafood, meat and poultry with highlights including le saumon de Tasmanie – grilled Tasmanian salmon with saffron pilaf vegetables sorgum, black mussels and coriander sauce; and le jarret d'agneau – slow-cooked lamb shank with saffron pilaf vegetables bulgur. One of the dishes that really stands out from the rest is la caille – succulent, tasty roasted quail stuffed with duck and served with vegetables millefeuille and honey coriander sauce.

Save some room for dessert, because the dessert selection at Métis is simply to-diefor – from le millefeuille cara-vanille, to the espresso panna cotta. Of course, a tipple or two at Métis Lounge won't hurt either.

Beyond the outstanding gastronomic offerings, Métis wins hearts because of its elegantly charming atmosphere, combining a curated indoors and manicured outdoors. The establishment is designed by Nexus Studio Architects and is focused on a modern, classy French interior adorned with local touches. Add to that the mesmerizing tropical garden and you will want to take your time here. Opt for an al fresco table as the sun goes down to bask in an unrivalled romantic vibe.

The restaurant offers a private dining room that can accommodate 25 to 100 guests for different kinds of events, including corporate meetings, wedding receptions, cocktail parties, product launches and more. Further, Métis is also home to one of the most soughtafter galleries in Bali. Whatever you come to Métis for, you can be sure one thing is always on the table: class.
