Mamaka by Ovolo Coming to Kuta

Ovolo Group, a design savvy company with hotels in Australia and Hong Kong, is opening on Kuta's beachfront in late 2020. Famed for its playful aesthetic and design-driven style, the Ovolo brand has unveiled its By Ovolo Collective, where each hotel will be unique, special and have plenty to explore.

The Kuta hotel, Mamaka by Ovolo, is part of the collective and will have a distinct Indonesian twist with touches of ancient Balinese culture combining with the group's iconic vibrant, dynamic spaces. Designed in unison with ara design International, expect vibrant colours, traditional Balinese textiles, weaving, natural materials and lanterneffect lighting.

Girish Jhunjhnuwala, Founder & CEO of Ovolo Group noted, “Convention was not considered, this is our take on a resort. It will be a playground for travellers through food and drink with attitude, wellness and activities, a surf school and shop, and a little self-indulgence – guests won't want to leave! This urban resort will bring a killer experience to Kuta, adding to its current and growing vibe.”

Offering 191 designer rooms and suites, the hotel will have the island's highest rooftop pool club – with 270-degree views of the Bali's beaches –, an in-house surf school, as well as an innovative take on wellness that includes a horizontal climbing wall, circuit training and mechanical surfboard for core strength. Pampering is the order-of-the-day with a fun unisex salon, for which the team hints, “think bubbles and blow, negroni and nails or barber and bourbon”.
