Inspired by the awardwinni­ng OKU Restaurant at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, Izakaya by OKU is a modern Japanese restaurant with an atelier concept. The word izakaya refers to after-work hubs in Japan, where people gather over a meal and drinks. The Japanese restaurant features an open kitchen concept to showcase the famed chefs’ high-level craftsmans­hip.

Supported by OKU Jakarta’s Chef Kazumasa Yazawa, guests’ palates are tantalised by a series of signature dishes that include Karasumi Pasta, Truffle Gyu Don, OKU Aburi Salmon Roll and much more. An elegant dinner option is the Okukase – an enticing five or seven-course chef’s degustatio­n menu paired with sakes and sake-based signature cocktails specially crafted by the sake sommelier.

Open daily, the restaurant is now open for lunch as well offering a series of bento lunch boxes or an à la carte menu that is to die for.
