Indonesia Design - Defining Luxury
Gentle Proportions: Residence
Kiat Architects was established in 1987 and developed into one of the most reputable architecture firms in the country. After more than 30 years of service, they published their first book entitled “Gentle Proportions: Residence”.
Forewords are given by Jasin Tedjasukmana as the principal himself, as well as Thomas Elliott of PT Paramita Abirama Istasadhya (PAI), a respected designer who has been working collaboratively with Jasin in several projects.
This book traces the best classical works of Jasin’s workmanship in residential architecture. It includes nine residential projects in Bali, Bandung, Jakarta and Yogyakarta that are divided into three chapters, according to its styles; Western Classic, Indonesian Classic and Contemporary Classic. At the end of the book, there is a chapter called Collaboration Story in which Jasin talks about his collaborations with Indonesian interior design legend Jaya Ibrahim.
The editorial, which is written fully in English, is complemented with picturesque photos of the houses. There are plan and section drawings in each project that will help readers to understand the space designs. This 240-page book is published by Simpul Group. It is coming in hardcover that makes it best for a collectible coffee table book.
