Sharing its prime location with One World Trade Centre and the 9/11 Memorial, Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown positions itself as a strategic choice for travellers. It occupies the first 24 storeys of 30 Park Place, one of the tallest residential towers in New York, and not a single floor disappoints.
Stepping into the lobby, you’ll first notice their signature fragrance pervading the area. This time of year you’ll be welcomed with soothing notes of spring florals. Unequivocally contemporary and unmistakably posh, the interior is distinctly different from the classical façade of the residential tower designed by American architect Robert A.M. Stern. With Yabu Pushelberg’s masterful touch, and fine furnishing choices, the interior spells effortless good taste. The lobby is the opposite of overdone with a combination of dark wood, clean lines and asymmetrical nuances that culminate into its understated appeal.
The ground floor’s sculptural finesse continues to the doubleheight staircase and lattice balustrade that leads up to the
ballroom above. The stairs sit curved below a Studio Sawada installation that resembles an upside down skyscraper.
The third floor — home to the gym, spa and swimming pool — adopts a more subtle colour palette that evokes feelings of a much-needed sensual reboot for busy travellers. A glance at the serene 23-metre lap pool or the elegant spa will give you a natural urge to linger and relax.

All designed by Yabu Pushelberg, they share the same subdued hues of taupe, grey and beige that set the stage for brass furnishing, patterned carpets and refined upholstery. The bathrooms are punctuated by marble surfaces, mosaic tiles and stylistic elements that mirror the bedrooms.
