Indonesia Design - Defining Luxury
Celebrating Women’s Empowerment through Art
Indonesian Luxury, in collaboration with PT Intiland Development, presented Reinventing Eve, a group exhibition of all-female artists at the function hall of 1Park Avenue. ISA Art Advisory, a member of Indonesian Luxury, curated the exhibition.
The event honoured Indonesia’s national heroine, Raden Ajeng Kartini, who is known as one of the country’s pioneers for women’s rights. “Reinventing Eve is a special exhibition that showcases carefully curated artworks by 14 inspirational and talented women in celebration of Kartini Day”, said Deborah C Iskandar, founder of Indonesian Luxury.
The 14 female artists showcasing the event were Indonesian artists Arahmaiani, Melati Suryodharmo, Sinta Tantra, Ines Katamso,
Rega Ayundya, Natisa Jones, Ella Wijt and Inge Kotjo, as well as international artists Marisa R Ng from Malaysia, Mary Lou Pavlovic, Lindy Lee and Sally Smart from Australia, Mella Jaarsma from The Netherlands and Melissa Tan from Singapore. By focusing on art created by women, Indonesian Luxury wants to introduce diversity into the art world whilst supporting the feminist movement.
“With events such as this exhibition, we hope to showcase our artworks that are uniquely available in Indonesia to the growing pool of art enthusiasts and collectors in the region.” said Deborah.
