Celebrating the Work of Andra Matin

WHAT Prihal Exhibition WHEN 27 November – 11 December 2019 WHERE National Gallery of Indonesia The National Gallery of Indonesia and Andra Matin organised an exhibition titled Prihal, showcasing a collection of ideas and works done by the “andramatin” architectural studio. This exhibition acted as a summary, and a celebration of the two decades of andramatin’s journey, that was founded by Andra Matin (also known as Aang) since 1998. Aang is an architect that has become one of Indonesia’s prominent figures in the development of the country’s contemporary architecture. Throughout his two decades of work, andramatin has achieved numerous national and international recognitions.

The Prihal exhibition was designed by andramatin, and has involved a few other collaborators in efforts of data collecting, processing and presenting the selected work that was exhibited. Through the materials presented, the exhibition hopes to have given the public a chance to understand and appreciate the architectural ways of andramatin. Prihal was an effort to recollect and acknowledge the work, and make a positive impact for this generation and the generations to come.
