The Jakarta Bridge Club Every Tues­day and Fri­day

The Jakarta Bridge Club in­vites ex­pat com­mu­ni­ties through­out Jakarta to join a net­work­ing ses­sion on Tues­days and Fri­days from 9am to 12pm. Par­tic­i­pants meet for pleas­ant and con­vivial mo­ments where they can share and ex­change in­for­ma­tion among ex­pats at three to five ta­bles. This year’s St. An­drew’s Ball is spe­cial, as in 2018-19 they are cel­e­brat­ing the 100th an­niver­sary of the So­ci­ety. The date of this black tie, for­mal dress event is Novem­ber 24th 2018. Be­ing cen­te­nary time for the So­ci­ety, one of Jakarta’s best ho­tels with a Scot­tish af­fil­i­a­tion has been cho­sen and a spe­cial ef­fort is be­ing made on the food and bev­er­age, along with a se­lec­tion of out­stand­ing en­ter­tain­ment be­fit­ting of their 100th an­niver­sary. In keep­ing with tra­di­tion, St. An­drew’s So­ci­ety is pleased to wel­come back the Perth High­land Pipeband, booked and con­firmed. Mad About Com­edy Presents: Joe Brome­head 23 Novem­ber 2018

Joe Brome­head is an English ex cage fight­ing, ex fire- fight­ing fun­ny­man who re­ally packs a punch. Like­able, cheeky and quick on his feet, he has been de­light­ing au­di­ences for nearly a decade as a pro­fes­sional co­me­dian. An in­stant hit with the au­di­ence with a com­pletely unique and hi­lar­i­ous open­ing which places the au­di­ence in the palm of his hand right from the start. A reg­u­lar choice for Jon­gleurs he has per­formed around the UK at many com­edy clubs in­clud­ing The Com­edy Store and the The Glee clubs. In­done­sian Her­itage So­ci­ety Evening Lec­tures by Kar­tika Jahja 4 De­cem­ber 2018

Rec o rd s & Reb el l i o ns : Em­pow­er­ing In­done­sia. Mu­sic is a great way to move com­mu­ni­ties and drive change in In­done­sia. Lots of In­done­sian mu­sic is pro­duced but lit­tle is ex­ported and thus known abroad. Yet the in­flu­ence of mod­ern In­done­sian mu­si­cians is great not only through their mu­sic and lyrics but also through the on- line com­mu­ni­ties they lead.

Kar­tika Jahja and other artist­s­ac­tivists will not only talk about the mean­ing of mod­ern In­done­sian mu­sic in to­day’s so­ci­ety but also give a live per­for­mance. Kar­tika is an in­de­pen­dent singer­song­writer with the band Tika and the Dis­si­dents as well as an ac­tivist on the is­sue of gen­der and sex­u­al­ity. Out­side of mu­sic and ac­tivism, she is also a pub­lished writer, ac­tress, and en­tre­pre­neur. In Novem­ber 2016, she made the list of “BBC 100 Women” which is a list of the 100 most in­spir­ing and in­flu­en­tial women from around the globe.

Mu­sic Franz Fer­di­nand Live in Jakarta 30 Novem­ber 2018

Franz Fer­di­nand is ready to rock Jakarta! Wit­ness the cool per­for­mance of the Glas­gow­based indie rock band on 30 Novem­ber at Glora Bung Karno’s Out­door Ten­nis Sta­dium, Se­nayan, South Jakarta. Formed in 2002 by the lead vo­cals and guitar Alex Kapra­nos, Bob Hardy on bass guitar, Nick Mc­Carthy on rhythm guitar, key­board and back­ing vo­cals and Paul Thom­son on drum, per­cus­sion and back­ing vo­cals, the band soared up to chart suc­cess with their de­but al­bum “Take Me Out” two years af­ter their es­tab­lish­ment. This year’s con­cert will in­clude the re­lease of their lat­est al­bum ‘Al­ways As­cend­ing’. Ju­das Priest Live in Con­cert at Eco­park An­col Jakarta on 7 De­cem­ber 2018. Ju­das Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in West Bromwich in 1969. The band have sold over 50 mil­lion copies of their al­bums to date. They are fre­quently ranked as one of the great­est metal bands of all time. De­spite an in­no­va­tive and pi­o­neer­ing body of work in the lat­ter half of the 1970s, the band strug­gled with in­dif­fer­ent record pro­duc­tion, re­peated changes of drum­mer, and lack of ma­jor com­mer­cial suc­cess or at­ten­tion un­til 1980, when they adopted a more sim­pli­fied sound on the al­bum Bri­tish Steel, which helped shoot them to rock su­per­star sta­tus.

BALI Fes­ti­vals Djakarta Ware­house Pro­ject DWPX 7 – 9 De­cem­ber 2018

The an­nual Djakarta Ware­house Pro­ject dance mu­sic fes­ti­val, or this year called the DWPX to cel­e­brate its tenth edi­tion will be held at Garuda Wisnu Ken­cana (GWK) Cul­tural Park, Bali. They an­nounced the phase of a show or lineup sprin­kled by in­ter­na­tional mu­si­cians from all over the world. A to­tal of seven mu­si­cians were an­nounced for the first phase of the DWPX lineup. The first name an­nounced was singer The Weeknd, who will be per­form­ing for the first time in In­done­sia. Ash Live In Bali 24 Novem­ber 2018

L AMC P ro d u c t i o n s , in as­so­ci­a­tion with Hard Rock Cafe Bali, is ex­cited to an­nounce that Ir­ish Al­ter­na­tive trio, ASH, will per­form in Bali on Satur­day, 24 Nov, 2018 at Hard Rock Cafe Bali. It’s worth con­sid­er­ing here the North­ern Ir­ish trios jour­ney to this point. Wheeler and Hamil­tons friend­ship and mu­si­cal ad­ven­tures be­gan in 1989, when the two 12- yearolds founded (un­her­alded) heavy metal ti­tans Viet­nam in their home­town of Down­patrick, County Down. Ja­son Derulo is an Amer­i­can singer, song­writer and dancer and he’s play­ing live at Finns VIP Beach­club on Satur­day De­cem­ber 1. Since the start of his solo record­ing ca­reer in 2009, Derulo has sold over 30 mil­lion sin­gles and has achieved eleven Plat inum sin­gles, in­clud­ing “Wig­gle”, “Talk Dirty”, “In My Head”, and “Whatcha Say”.
