Skillfully prepared by Executive Chef Thierry Le Queau, the food at Lyon, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, uses the finest and freshest ingredients in each of its authentic Gallic dishes in the best tradition of fine French cuisine. As I enter the venue, I feel an elegant atmosphere spread throughout every corner of the restaurant; everything is carefully thought out to ensure an ultimate fine-dining experience for each guest. For a starter, I chose delicious Hokkaido Sea Scallop with Baerii Sturgeon Caviar, Pan seared Foie Gras and perfectly cooked Escargot. They all tasted good and boosted my appetite for the main course, Coq au Vin, chicken cooked with mushrooms, onions and light gravy. Second course is fresh Tasmanian Salmon Fillet with Green Peas and Wild Mushrooms; it tasted really good. But my favourite was premium black angus steak “Au Poivre”. The steak was very juicy and it literally melted in my mouth. For dessert, fresh, red berries with whipped cream and amazingly delicious profiteroles with cocoa nibs ice cream and warm chocolate sauce are hard to beat. Lyon also invites Michelinstarred chefs regularly to the restaurant to share their incredible culinary talent with guests, and on Saturday it serves its famous brunch, where guests can enjoy a wide range of delectable main courses from the a la carte menu, with breakfast dishes served from the food stations. There are also options for a business lunch set menu, which can be customized by request.
