What
Some 150 invited guests were welcomed by Martell Heritage Director Jacques Menier and his colleagues to a “Pure Gourmet” evening celebrating the arts of gastronomy, cognac making and fashion. Chef Vindex Tengker, Chief Ambassador for Martell, prepared a very special appetiser: oyster and foie gras with truffle sauce. Chef Rene Guttzeit, Executive Chef of Hotel Indonesia
Kempinski, then oversaw the preparation of crab bisque with seafood
dumplings, Australian Meltique striploin and blackberry yoghurt cream. Each course was paired with Martell Cordon Bleu and other examples of the brand’s fine cognacs. The diners were entertained by live video chats with the chefs as they worked in the kitchen, and by performances by Live Chamber by Astrid Lea, featuring Alena and Sammy Simorangkir. The night continued with a runway show, attended by an additional 250 guests, featuring accessories by Tex Saverio, Sebastian Gunawan, Adrian Gan, Didi Budiardjo, Susan Budihardjo,
Mel Ahyar and Ivan Gunawan. The show peaked with a series of tribal-esque
headpieces by Rinaldy A. Yunardi.
