PACIFIC PLACE
Celebrating Italy’s best
PACIFIC PLACE, THE Italian Embassy, the Italian Trade Agency and Bank BRI jointly held “Buongiorno Italia” between October 8 and November 2. The event consisted of a series of Italian lifestyle events and exhibitions that focused on the design, production and performance of great Italian products from the fashion, coffee, automotive and interior design industries.
“The industry and culture of Italy have long been a rich source of inspiration and reference for fellow industry players in many countries,” said Ambassador Federico Failla. “Many Italian brands have gained millions of customers and admirers across the globe, including Indonesia. Through ‘Buongiorno Italia’ we aim to strengthen the love of consumers in Indonesia for Italian products.”
At the “Buongiorno Italia” inauguration, Pacific Place officially opened the “60 Years of Made in Italy” exhibition, showcasing creations of Italian fashion designers and luxury houses from different eras. The exhibition featured historic dresses curated by Studio Galgano, some of which have been worn by Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn and Jennifer Lopez. A total of thirty dresses from Italy’s leading houses and designers were featured, including Prada, Roberto Cavalli, and Valentino.
“Buongiorno Italia” was set in the framework of the 65th anniversary of bilateral relations between Italy and Indonesia. The celebrations will last until May 2015 and will provide Indonesians with a wonderful journey throughout the magnificent and unparalleled Italian history, combined with the brilliance and the excellence of today’s Italy.
While celebrating the design, traditions and cuisine of Italy, “Buongiorno Italia” honoured the achievements of 65 years of fruitful relations between Italy and Indonesia and aimed to contribute to an enhanced partnership between the two countries.
Closing the festivity with a big splash of style, Azimut Yachts Indonesia held a party at Pacific Place on October 31. The event was attended by partners of the Italian Embassy, as well as customers of the luxurious Italian yacht. With an actual Azimut 40S yacht docked at the venue, and a parade of Italy’s automotive icons, the event made a stylish invitation for guests to live and ride like an Italian.
