A beautiful world

AESTHETIC DOCTOR Kevin Maharis wants to make the world more beautiful, one face at a time. “I am a visually inclined person. I think I have a pretty sharp eye for beauty and aesthetics, so having the various platforms in my job to channel that passion is what drives me,” says the 32-year-old founder and Medical Director of Maharis Group.

The company’s services include aesthetic medical practice at its clinic in Setiabudi, Central Jakarta. This year, the company has begun manufacturing its own Votre Peau skincare and Fernando Beauty cosmetic lines with an accompanying online retail platform MaharisBeauty.com.

“We are a small aesthetic service and product provider serving a niche upscale market,” says Maharis. “My aim is to make our products and services more readily available to a wider market. We are working on our sister, more-affordable line of aesthetics clinics called Votre Peau Institute.”

Maharis earned his medical degree from University of Indonesia and a postgraduate degree in Dermatology from Cardiff University in Wales. “I have never had any formal business training, but I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from some of my entrepreneurial friends,” he says. “I don’t equate success solely with numbers. For me, success is about how many lives we have successfully touched and enhanced through our products and services.

“Success to me is also not solely about improving our clients’ lives, but also the lives of people around our company, our staff, employees and partners. So, I think the key thing for me is to not only be passionate about what we do, but also to run the business with compassion and to have a positive impact on the community around us. This is truly what defines a successful entrepreneur.”
