Au­gust 2-19 MEL­BOURNE IN­TER­NA­TIONAL FILM FES­TI­VAL

This well-loved film ex­trav­a­ganza opens with the Aus­tralian pre­miere of Wildlife, a 1950s drama about bro­ken marriages that stars Carey Mul­li­gan and Jake Gyl­len­haal. Other high­lights in­clude an all-night marathon of movies head­lined by Ni­co­las Cage, as well as a spe­cial screen­ing of the Ja­panese cult com­edy, Tam­popo.

Au­gust 23-26 ASIA HO­TEL ART FAIR SEOUL 2018

In­stead of a gallery or white cube, ex­hibits are viewed on the beds, by the win­dows and in the bath­tubs of ho­tel rooms. The fair’s 10th in­stal­ment is held at the Grand In­ter­Con­ti­nen­tal Seoul Par­nas.

Un­til Septem­ber 17 THE WORLDS OF CHAUMET

Held at the Mit­subishi Ichigokan Mu­seum in Tokyo, this show­case of 300 pieces of jew­ellery ex­am­ines the link Chaumet has es­tab­lished with the arts since the 18th cen­tury. Among the ob­jets d’art is Pope Pius VII’s tiara gifted by Napoleon I (above), which fea­tures the Jules II emer­ald.
