BURBERRY’S NEW ERA

Ric­cardo Tisci un­veiled a new logo ahead of his run­way de­but at Burberry this month. The new graphic was de­signed in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Bri­tish graphic de­signer Peter Sav­ille, who last year re­vamped the Calvin Klein logo with Raf Si­mons. “Peter is one of our gen­er­a­tion’s great­est de­sign ge­niuses,” said Tisci in the house’s of­fi­cial In­sta­gram. “I’m so happy to have col­lab­o­rated to­gether to reimag­ine the new vis­ual lan­guage for the house.” The logo re­places an all-caps, serif style cre­ated in 1999 with a sans-serif, bold text. Sav­ille also has cre­ated an in­ter­lac­ing TB pat­tern af­ter Thomas Burberry, the house’s founder.
